The Centre for Building and Social Action (CBSA) are thrilled to announce that they recently secured funding from the European Social Fund through Welsh government to launch First Impressions and FirstImpressionsSirGar. Through this funding, CBSA will be able to provide people in Carmarthenshire with the opportunity to access employability training and paid work placements.
First Impressions will support those who are 25 years of age and over and are economically inactive or long term unemployed. #FirstImpressionsSirGar will support those who are 16-24 years of age and NEET. The project will work with a range of referrers, support agencies and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of both projects.
The combined projects will aim to support 90 people to improve their employability with 30 moving on to part time paid work placements. Each individual will receive support from both project staff and volunteer mentors to secure progression into education, training, further learning or employment upon leaving the project.
Deputy Chief Executive, Janice Morgan said “CBSA are delighted to secure this funding. It will allow us to continue the outstanding work and outcomes achieved on the Symud Ymlaen / Moving Forward (SYMF) project whilst extending the provision to those 25years of age and over. This funding will allow the people of Carmarthenshire to access our staff members’ expertise in delivery of employability skills and supported worked paid placements within local businesses.”
If you are interested in being a volunteer or providing a participant with a funded part time work placement then please contact us, we would love to hear from you!
