We're aiming for our town, Llanelli, to become Wales' first ZERO WASTE TOWN

But we can't make it happen alone.

We need community support, action and involvement.

Our Zero Waste Charter is the first step towards uniting the town.

Things you can do to support the Charter

"

Get stuck into a community clean-up! Whether it’s a local park, beach, river or neighbourhood, it’s a great way to make a difference — and have a bit of fun while you’re at it! You can even just commit to putting rubbish in the bin when you see it. Small habits will make a big difference!

Get involved with local groups tackling waste — whether it’s helping out at a repair café, joining a community composting scheme, or supporting waste reduction projects. You can also encourage your school, workplace or local groups to cut down on waste, and help spread the word by promoting sustainability workshops in your area!

"

Find out more about the circular economy and chat about it with friends, family, or colleagues — it’s all about sharing ideas that make a difference. Look out for local workshops, fairs, or meet-ups on sustainability, and help shine a light on great examples in action, like local businesses reusing materials or new policies making a real impact.

Do a little digging into the companies you buy from and try to support those that care about the planet. Go for brands that are open about how they make their products and are serious about sustainability. Choose items made from recycled or eco-friendly materials, skip fast fashion, and shop at your local farm shop or market.

There are plenty of simple and meaningful ways people can support environmental justice at a community level. Talking to friends, neighbours, and family about environmental issues can also help raise awareness and spark ideas for collective action. Supporting local campaigns by signing petitions or attending a community meeting gives your voice power, and sharing these efforts on social media can help spread the word even further.
