Bike Library #2

Our Bike Library provides accessible bike repair and maintenance support to community members, helping people make the most of cycling as a sustainable and affordable form of transport.

Our workshop at Lord Arthur Rank is open once a week, giving members of the public the opportunity to bring their bikes along for repairs. Repairs are carried out by our qualified mechanic and are free of charge, with customers only paying for any replacement parts required.

As well as our regular repair sessions, the Bike Library delivers a range of community events and bike rides, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get involved and enjoy the benefits of cycling.

The bike library also provide bike maintenance training programmes for local community members and school groups. These sessions help participants develop practical skills and confidence in maintaining and repairing their own bikes.

Alongside the practical training, young people involved in the project receive youth work support, one-to-one mentoring and a personalised “next steps” plan, so that the project leads into something such as volunteering, further training, or work.
